My 1934 HotRod page

My friend Aaron and I started this project December 15 2001.
I found this old 1934 truck cab buried in a outside garage covered with junk . Aaron and I built the frame all by hand as you will see by the pictures.

We moved the cab and box ( not much of a box) to My shop garage and wondered how to do this.

This will give you the indication what shape this shell was in.

This is what the inside looked like"NOTHING" not even a dash.

Building the frame rails to match the body.

Welding the frame together

Attaching leaf spring mounts to the end of frame rails

Welding on the front support, aligning radius rods.

Final welds of radius rods aligning front end to frame

Welding the shock towers into place.

Welding in the floorboard with battery box compartment.

Welding in the firewall.

Welding the pads on the rear end, aliening leaf springs.

Adding the traction bars and shock mounts

Welding in the Vega steering box then adding grade 8 bolts for safety.

Welding in breaking system attaching break lines, master cylinder is Mustang II.

Aligning the front grill, welding motor mounts checking for clearance.

Aligning the motor and transmission and drive shaft for the correct angles.

Mounting the S10 steering wheel.

Now it's time to stretch the 1931 box that did not go with this truck.

I took the die grinder and cut the pickup box to fit the frame.

Welding the sheet metal in to re-make the pickup box.
