THERMOTHERAPY™ BASICS
The Thermotherapy™ is a battery powered, heated, probe device cleared by the FDA for the treatment of hemorrhoids. For application for hemorrhoids, the device contains a small probe that cradles in the rectum allowing heat to be applied much deeper than with external applications. A dial allows the user to control temperature of the probe up to a safe maximum of 113 degrees F, which is the max allowable temperature permitted by the FDA. This application of heat can provide soothing relief for hemorrhoids within minutes. In two studies conducted for FDA clearance of the original Thermotherapy™ device, hemorrhoids were relieved and shrank in 98% of users. During a 15 to 20 minute treatment central body temperature generally goes up about 1 degree.

HOW CAN HEAT INCREASE YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM?
The immune system is defined as your body’s defense mechanism against invasion by bacteria, microbes and infection. This defense mechanism includes the production of white blood cells (leukocytes) from your bone marrow and t-cells produced by your thymus gland. When your body has a fever, the immune system triggers the production of these cells.
The application of artificial heat internally can make the body believe it has a fever, thus stimulating the immune response. | Q: How long should the treatments be? A: That depends on how severe the problems are. For more difficult problems, it is best to use the unit 3 or 4 days a week for 20 minutes at a time. It is important to skip days and not to use the unit 2 days in a row. This should be done for 2-3 weeks until there is improvement and then reduce the usage to 2 to 3 days a week for 20 minutes at a time still skipping days in between sessions or as needed. If you are already very healthy and only want to use it to keep the immune system in good shape, use the unit once a week for one hour. This is especially useful throughout the winter flu season and spring and summer allergy season. Overuse of the unit can cause the body to produce more white blood cells than it can handle which is not desirable. Q: Can I use any kind of lubrication to make it easier to insert the probe? A: Yes, KY Jelly is used most often. Q: How does the heater probe unit compare to the Elliot Treatment? A: The only similarity is that it produces heat in the rectal and prostate area. The heater probe unit does not use pressurized water; it uses a metal probe with a heating element inside which is powered by a rechargeable battery. This unit is totally portable. Q: What comes with the heater probe unit? A: The unit comes in a portable plastic case with carrying case, a rechargeable battery, battery charger, probe, and an instruction booklet. Q: How long will the battery last and how often does it have to be charged? A: The battery will last for many years if kept charged on a regular basis.
