About 6 months ago, the EM Thruster was making the news and it was a reaction-less thruster – meaning it violates Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion. This was even discussed on the NASA website. Dr. Athanassios Nassikas has filed a patent for another reaction-less thruster, but this one apparently doesn’t require any other input other than a permanent magnet. Also, the amount of thrust appears to be way more than any other reaction-less thruster. It is estimated from the tests that the weight to thrust ratio is 9 TIMES GREATER than an engine on a Space Shuttle.
